What You'll Discover in These 12 Weeks

Each week for 12 weeks, Dawson will explain the most exciting new scientific research showing exactly how your body works. Each week includes a transformational practice that you can use to shift your cells toward health, vitality and longevity. Week 1: Sudden Discontinuous Change

The dominant model in science for the last half of the twentieth century was Genetic Determinism. Yet most of these predictions turn out to be disappointing, because our bodies are very complex. Heart disease alone involves the expression of over 600 genes. There are also different categories of genes, and there are certain stress-related genes that are critically important to your health. This week you’ll learn which genes turn on rapidly, which slowly, and how “clock genes” influence your sleeping and waking cycle. You’ll discover how your behaviors and emotions can set up a cascade of molecular events in your cells.

This week covers:

  • How the expression of genes can be either silenced or enhanced.
  • Internal versus external triggers for gene expression.
  • How the expression of a single gene can trigger a cascade of molecules.
  • The daily up and down rhythms of hormones such as cortisol.
  • Clock genes, and how some are on a 24 hour cycle, others on a 2 hour cycle.
  • How to attune to your body’s natural clock gene rhythms.

In Week 3, you learn a simple breathing exercise that regulates the balance between the two halves of your nervous system, simultaneously producing alertness and deep relaxation.


Week 4: Electromagnetism in Healing: Ancient and Modern

We’re all familiar with the electrical currents that we use to power our meditating-1devices, and also with magnetic fields. But did you know that each of your organs, like your heart, your kidneys, your brain, has its own electromagnetic field? Even the tiniest of your cells has its own unique individual field. The field of a healthy organ is different from an unhealthy one, and disease shows up in the body’s electromagnetic fields before they are apparent at the molecular level. Ancient methods like acupuncture and Qi Gong made use of the body’s electromagnetic flows for healing. Acupressure, pressure on acupuncture points, creates an electromagnetic charge that can balance your body’s field.

In this Module, you’ll learn:

  • The electromagnetic basis of devices like MRI, EEG, and EKG machines.
  • How your cells use electromagnetism to communicate.
  • How civilizations like the ancient Greeks (Plato and Aristotle) and Chinese used energy healing.

Week 5: Your Body as a Semiconducting Crystal

In Week 5 we take a close look at piezoelectricity, a form of energy generated by 4160141_HiResmechanical friction. Your cells use piezoelectricity to communicate. Connective tissue—the cartilege, ligaments and tendons of your body—is collectively the single largest organ of your body. It’s composed of collagen, and the structure of collagen is regularly ordered crystalline arrays of molecules. This makes it a superb semiconductor. Semiconductors conduct information as well as energy, and your cells use the semiconductive properties of connective tissue to orchestrate complex actions that involve coordination of the entire body.

In Week 5 you’ll discover:

  • The crystalline structure of your connective tissue.
  • How piezoelectric charges are created in the body.
  • How electromagnetic energy travels to distant parts of the body in unusual “soliton” waves.
  • That cells separated by large distances can communicate instantly using electromagnetic fields.
  • How the body coordinates complex movements using fields.

Week 6: Belief Therapy

Some ancient civilizations believed in healing through the transmission of energy, such as Jump!the “king’s touch.” Superstitious though this might seem, modern research shows that under the right circumstances, DNA can be affected by intention. Our bodies respond to traumatic memories the same way they respond to threats to our physical survival, with a massive shift in biological resources. Fight or flight mobilizes every physiological resource, from our brains to our blood supply. Our beliefs can have the same effect, and the placebo response rivals the effectiveness of many drugs. But negative beliefs, such as the cliches we grow up with, can affect our health dramatically.

This Module will show:

  • Iatrogenic illness (caused by medical treatment) is one of the top 3 causes of death in the US.
  • You can produce a cascade of beneficial hormones and neurotransmitters in your body by thought alone.
  • It’s worth engaging the healing benefits of the placebo response in addition to quality medical care.
  • As a child, you learned the mechanics of the fight / flight / freeze response.
  • Most adults are still re-enacting childhood patterns.

This week’s exercise will have you identify cliches and core beliefs that are hurting your health, and challenge you to plant healthy beliefs in their place.

Week 7: Entangled Strings of Molecular Meaning

Distant healing has been practiced for millennia, and while it is well balance-110850_1280 (1)documented, science is not yet able to explain how. When a healer is in the same room as the client, the effects can be explained by electromagnetic fields that extend up to 20 feet from the body. How do we explain medically documented healing that happens thousands of miles away? New explanations from string theory, and the notion of quantum entanglement between molecules, are starting to provide a framework for understanding distant healing. Consciousness itself may exist independent of time and space.

In Week 7 we’ll discover:

  • How our minds may be entangled with the minds of others at the molecular level.

In this Module, we’ll discover:

About Dawson Church...

u7Dawson Church has edited or authored many books in the fields of health, psychology and spirituality. He has collaborated on articles with many of the leading voices of our time, including Larry Dossey, Bernie Siegel, Caroline Myss, Barry Sears and John Gray. He earned his doctorate in Integrative Healthcare at Holos University, under the mentorship of distinguished neurosurgeon Norman Shealy, MD, PhD, founder of the American Holistic Medical Association. He went on to receive a postgraduate PhD in Natural Medicine. Church and Shealy coauthored a compendious survey of spiritual healing throughout history called “Soul Medicine.”
